At A Crossroad

Road to Zion”, 10x12” oil, $900.
Available through Breckenridge Gallery

Once again I am blogging with a twist..returning to my old blog on blogger. The past two years have been challenging with family issues, changes in the art market, being a co-president of a national art organization, and a lot of travel.

In the midst of this I have been thinking about my painting career..and how it has helped me get through some of these times. I am so blessed with the benefits of my paintings..I have made so many friends through it..fellow artists, gallerists, students, and of course my collectors.

Painting has also lifted my spirits. Painting in places new as well as favorite spots, painting commissions, and exploring new ideas have all renewed my soul. Seeing and painting the beauty that surrounds us in sometimes unexpected places has also been a joy.

NOW WHAT?

I am continuing to paint..and teach. In June I am teaching a 2 day plein air workshop in West Jefferson, NC in conjunction with a show of work over 25 years. "Three Artists, Three States,Three Styles" will be at the Florence Thomas Art School and Gallery, West Jefferson, NC. My dear friends Addren Doss, Julie Hayes, and I have been painting together for a long time. We hope this will turn into a traveling exhibition.

I will be delivering new work to Two Old Crows Gallery in Pagosa Springs,CO. as soon as I can and I delivered new pieces to Breckenridge Gallery, Breckenridge, CO several weeks ago.

I am painting small works as a challenge..plus these gems can be placed in so many spots. Not having room for any more art doesn't apply for them!

You can find more of my work , info about shows, workshops, etc. t on my website:

I do feel I am at a crossroad..which way should I go? A comfortable easy path..or one where the destination is unknown. One thing for sure..I will continue to paint and will move in new directions..so I guess I am on the path with the unknown destination. Want to journey with me?

Blessings,

Amy
